Storm ensures that all Hard Disk Drives that enter our facilities undergo a process of data erasure using Military Standard software, ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Certificates of Data Removal are available to customers on request.
ICT Equipment Recycling:
Storm can recycle or reuse computers, servers, laptops, printers, faxes, scanners, plotters and photocopiers; helping to ensure that the environment is protected. These items have almost 100% recyclable materials. Businesses with obligations under the WEEE Regulations are responsible for financing the collection, treatment, recovery and disposal of the WEEE that they supply to businesses. Storm can ensure that you meet these legal requirements.
TFT Monitor Recycling:
These monitors are classed as hazardous waste and need to be disposed of under WEEE directions as they contain Mercury which needs to be dealt with by a specialist treatment facility.
CRT Monitor Recycling:
These old style monitors are being gradually removed from use throughout the UK. Incorrect disposal of these monitors presents a significant danger to the environment. Storm will dispose of these following all laws to be fully compliant with Environmental Agency requirements.
Asset Management Service:
If required, you can request that a report is created of all your IT equipment being disposed. The report will list all the model, serial and asset numbers of your disposed equipment.

Available for customers on or off-site, this process produces a 100% recyclable product. Storm offer secure disk drive destruction and secure media destruction, from hard drives to DVD’s, back-up tapes to PDA’s.
Customers have a choice of where this service is provided, either at the relevant site(s) or customers are welcome to visit the Treatment Facility to witness the drives being shredded. We find that a lot of the Banks we deal with appreciate this facility as part of their company policies demand that a member of staff watches the destruction of their hard drives.
Storm offer a decommission service. Many companies chose to relocate buildings and at the same time renew their IT equipment. Our engineers will decommission your old site, including disconnection and removal of all IT equipment and disposal.
